Chemically modified nanosheets for biomedical applications

In a recent study, researchers from the Department of Organic Chemistry (OC) and Materials Research Centre (MRC), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), show that surface modifications of two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide (2D-MoS2) nanosheets can make them highly effective for applications like delivering drugs to diseased cells.

Mendelevium is a synthetic element with chemical symbol Md (formerly Mv) and atomic number 101. A metallic radioactive transuranic element in the actinide series, it is the first element that currently cannot be produced in macroscopic quantities through neutron bombardment of lighter elements. It is the antepenultimate actinide and the ninth transuranic element.
